Hero Arts - Gettin' Clingy!

Sorry for the bad pun. I couldn't resist.

Hero Arts Cling stamps make great centrepieces. The card is complete with just that.

This dancing children stamp has always been a favourite but its crazy expensive over here. I finally caved and got it anyway as the store was having a 30% sale. Heat embossing seems to work great with these! The added dimension to the silhoutte gives it just that extra kick!

Then there's this gorgeous Christmas scene that's just so right for the holidays.

There's so many possibilities with these clingies. I love, love, love them! Hmmm, I sense a Hero Arts shopping spree coming up.

Life in Bloom

This card is very close to my heart because I made it for myself.

As a flower can't choose the circumstance of where it's been planted; in what kind of soil, in the company of what other kinds of plants or the availability of sunlight and water; people can't always choose the circumstances in which they find themselves in. Sometimes the people around them will hurt them, sometimes they find they haven't the tools or are in the wrong place doing the wrong thing. But they persevere. And some, positively bloom.

I can't control where I am planted and whom the other plants surrounding me will be. But I will do my best to bloom.

Featured Card!!

Now this update is late.

And boy do I mean LATE.

On the 7th of December 2011, my card was featured on Stephanie Barnard's blog! My first card posting onto the Stamps of Life gallery and it caught attention! I was so pleased- you can't imagine! To have your card featured by an artist as prominent and talented as Stephanie? Really, it made my day. Week. Month... Maybe even year.

Unfortunately, I fell into the doldrums a little after and hadn't the strength to post about this amazing honour.

Now that I am back, let me share with you- late as it, the post.

Happy 2012 everyone!

It is officially 2012 even in the Chinese calendar today! Happy year of the Dragon everyone!

I must firstly apologise for being away so long and not updating or crafting as faithfully as I should. As much as I wish I could share with you the personal reasons for my hiatus- it would not be right. But for now the clouds have lifted so without further ado, my few project offerings for this Lunar New Year!

Christmas too late

This card was so tedious to make, by the time I had finished it- it was way to late to be sent to anyone (although I am now wondering if maybe I did it on purpose because I didn't want to part with it! hehe) Using 3 different Lawn Fawn stamp sets (pa-rum-pum-pum-pum, cosy christmas and critters of the forest), I created this window card with painstakingly coloured and cut out accents. Very happy with how it turned out but will have to soon (next year!) bring myself to actually send it to someone!

Many Happy Returns!

A birthday card for my favourite girl. It uses a new Hero Arts cling stamp Enchante (Art of the Card, 2012 release) embossed in pink zing! embossing powders. Edges distressed by Aged Mahogany Distress Inks.

The beginning...

Of a scrapbook project! This is the cover of a small scrapbook that I hope to ring bind together eventually. This one page took a heckuva lot of time. The little roses have been coloured with copics and then embossed with clear powder for the sheen. All stamps from Oxford Impressions. The words were cut using Tim Holtz Vintage Market and Upon a Time die sets. The idea behind the scrapbook is just a tribute of sorts to all my favourite vintage things- from eras to books, to people and places. I am such a sucker for vintage that it was no contest as the idea for my first scrapbook. I only pray for the patience to finish it!
